Problem

The water had to be channelised as per the contours of the land, close to the bores to do targeted recharge, and arrest the silt that flows with the water.

Solution

We provided an integrated water management solution, capturing rainwater and treating wastewater.

Rainwater Harvesting: The rooftop water and the runoff water from the site are channelised into 10ft x 10ft x 10ft rainwater recharge pits through 2ft wide X 2ft deep trenches, layered with gravel to arrest the silt flowing with the water. The recharge pits are connected to 200 ft deep injection bores, which allow the filtered water to seep through to the ground.

Conclusion

After these recommendations, the site can harvest up to 60% of its rainwater with the help of recharge pits and injection bores.

There is scope for the balance to be used to recharge, restore, reuse, and recycle.
