Solution
At HCCB, a comprehensive rainwater management strategy is proposed for both Zone 1 and Zone 2. In Zone 1, injection borewells will be installed at the base of the existing rainwater harvesting (RWH) pond as per the geophysical study. A 400 cum storage tank will be constructed to collect rooftop runoff, which will be filtered through a desilt chamber and micron filter before storage. Stormwater channels will also be redirected into the RWH pond, with any overflow from the storage tank diverted into it for further recharge.
In Zone 2, injection borewells are similarly proposed in the sotrm channelsnad fixed the v- wire filters Instead of a typical RWH pond, a 420 cum recharge tank will be constructed and connected to all stormwater channels. The surface above the recharge tank will be developed into a lawn area, and overflow from the storage tank will be directed to this recharge tank, enhancing both utility and aesthetics while maximizing groundwater recharge.
